How to make Widows and Orphans Pension(W&OP) after the death of Civil Retireer?

• Obtaining the death certificate of the retiree and terminating the pension.
• If there is an overpayment, write to the bank to return it.
• Then instruct the person concerned to bring the following documents.
  
  • Original Certificate of Death of Retireer
  • Original birth certificate of the widow
  • Original marriage certificate
  • Photocopy of widow's pass book first page
  • Photocopy of widow's NIC
  • A photocopy of the W&OP Card or W&OP Number
  • Passport size color photograph certified by the Grama Niladhari
  • All photocopies of the above documents should be certified by the Grama Niladhari.
• After obtaining the relevant information from them, take necessary action to make W&OP Pension.

Why pensioners' pensions have been stopped?

• Termination of pension due to not submitting the life certificate for the relevant year.
• Renewal of pension after submission of life certificate is possible

Why the pension is not paid to the heirs after the death of the widow?

• According to the W&OP Act, there is no legal provision for the payment of the W&OP to their heirs if there is any salary/arrears due to that person upon death.
